Haiku Poem

A haiku poem doesn't have to make sense.  You can write anything.  A haiku poem comes from Japanese. 

The first sentences needs 5 syllables same as the last one.  The second sentence needs 7 syllables.

I enjoyed writing them and using my imagination I have never written a haiku poem and it turned out to be fun.

 First I made a story. The story needed a start, a problem and an ending.  Then I made some pictures and I brought it  all together and made an animation.

Sticky the baby

Stick Insect

My Mum found a stick insect going to get stake in a wedi brought him in my bed stuck in a spider web.  My brother and I brought him into my bedroom, I named him Sticky because he is a stick insect, he is green and has a black stripe down his back, he is long like a stick.

Hoot the owl - free choice writing

Hoot the owl.

Hoot was sleeping in his tree with his mum and dad, in the night Hoot decided to hunt. The rain was hard, he flew down under a  leaf, then a frog came  “what are you doing?” asked the frog, Hoot said “I am hiding away from the rain”, the frog said “you should like the rain, I need it to keep me wet”, “why said Hoot?”, “I would be dead and my eggs need it to”. Hoot understood and they played together in the rain. They shouted “hooray, hooray”.

I have learnt to collect data and use tally marks .I have learnt what popular means. I have learnt that cats are the most favourite pet in Ruma Tui.

Introduction

We have  been  learning to write about us because people can see what we are learning in our class on our blog and they need to know a little about us.

My name is Essie. I now have a kitten her name is Luna. She is like a night owl. She eats moths.My favourite color is purple. My mum is always busy and me, picking up after my dad and brother Boue. My buddies are Emlee and Evie, Pip, Ava and Levi. I have two dogs. I have a boxia dog and a farm dog . I have a 1000 people in my family. My favourite place is Christchurch because  my Nana and my Popa live there. It is the best as they have a toy room. My age is 7.
